2 Months!

Baby girl, you are already two months old! Well, last week you were. I'm a little late doing this :-) You have grown so much and have changed into a completely different little person. Let's see what is going on these days.

  • You weighed in at 13 lbs 1 oz and are 23 inches long! You are in the 80-85% for height, weight and head size. Big girl!
  • You are still eating about 4oz in the middle of the night, but during the day you seem to be eating about 2-3oz every 2-3 hours.
  • You have started sleeping a lot more during the night! This makes mommy very happy!! You typically go to sleep around 8-8:30 and wake up to eat around 1-2am and then back up somewhere between 5-6am.
  • You have incredible head control. You even impressed Dr Casey at your 2 month check-up.
  • You love to sit up and look around. You only like to lay back in our arms if you are eating. Any other time we better have you sitting up or you will let us know you aren't happy!
  • Speaking of letting us know, you have discovered your lungs this month. You went through a spell of crying every night before bedtime for about 2 weeks. That was rough :-( You also have started making a swaking noise. This is normally a warning that you are getting bored/irritated.
  • You got your first set of shots this month. I handled it alot better than I thought and you did awesome! You cried when you received the shots, but the second daddy picked you up you stopped. Even the nurse commented on what a trooper you were!
  • Every time we go out in public at least one person stops us to tell me how beautiful you are. This makes mommy just beam with pride! We know you are absolteuly adorable, but it's always fun to see when strangers think it too :-)
  • You really love "talking" to mommy during the day. Your favorite song for me to sing is Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes.

One Month

Hailey Grace, I can't believe you are one month old already! I'm not going to lie, at 2 weeks I wasn't sure I would make it to one month with my sanity. It's been a learning experience for us both and it's been a wild and fun journey so far.

At one month:

*You don't have your next doctor appointment until two months, but from what I could tell by the scale this morning, you are weighing in at a whopping 12lbs!

*You are sleeping in your pack 'n play in our bedroom at nighttime.

*You are still waking every 3 hours to eat at night, although one night you did give us a 5 hour stretch!! Let's work on more of those :-)

*You are currently eating about 4 oz at every feeding. Sometimes you will only eat 2-3, depending on how sleepy you are.

*You are doing great at tummy time. You have been holding your head up for a few seconds since you were born, but you are getting really good at holding it up and moving it side to side.

*We still have't managed to get you to nap in your crib yet. I've tried numerous things to get you to feel comfortable, but you aren't having it.....yet!

*At 3 weeks you rolled from your back to your side. You've only done it one other time since then. Your Pawpaw and Uncle Kyle don't believe me!!

22 Weeks!

How far along? 22 Weeks
Stretch marks? Ugh yes. Not excited about them, but I guess it comes with the territory.
Sleep: Last night was the first night in two weeks that I've been able to sleep through the whole night. Win!
Best moments this week: Seeing Hailey at our ultrasound yesterday. She moves so much and has the CUTEST little nose and feet.
Movement: Yes! This girl moves all the time and I love it.
Nursery: Walls are painted and wood floor is down. Next step will be putting the crib together!
Food cravings: This week it's fruit.
Anything making you queasy or sick: No
Symptoms: Back pain, indigestion and insomnia, boo
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!
Looking forward to: The busy weekend ahead! Bday party, Bday dinner and baby shower
Recent thoughts: I'm getting terrified of whats going to be happening to my body after delivery. I need to stop reading articles on the internet about it all. It's doing nothing but making me want to keep this little girl in forever!!

Nursery

Here are pictures of the wall color in the nursery. It's a really pretty grey color, Cathedral Grey to be exact. It looks great in the room. I plan on adding accents of a soft yellow. I need to get busy picking out fabric for the bedding. I have looked and looked and looked for bedding I really liked, but the only thing I found was WAY expensive. I just couldn't justify spending that much on bedding when there are so many other things that need to be purchased.

19 Weeks!

So it's been a while. Life has been a little crazy with the pregnancy and everything else in between. Thought I'd try this blogging thing one more time :-) I'll do a little recap. Thomas and I found out I was pregnant on January 31st. Found out it was a little GIRL on April 28th! We could not be more excited to be having a little girl. Her name will be Hailey Grace

How far along? 19 Weeks, 5 days
Stretch marks? Ugh yes. Not excited about them, but I guess it comes with the territory.
Sleep: I've slept better. I tend to wake up somewhere between 1-3am and am wide awake for a while.
Best moments this week: Feeling little Hailey moving around like crazy and getting to see my family over the weekend.
Movement: Yes! Lots in the evening and I'm starting to feel her moving around a lot more in the morning time now.
Nursery: Thomas finished painting the walls over the weekend and he will start laying the wood floor this week. I just LOVE the grey paint we chose. I'll post a picture here in a minute of the progress so far.
Food cravings: This week it was sweets. Nothing but sweets.
Anything making you queasy or sick: No
Symptoms:I'm getting pretty bad back pain this week and the gas is starting to set in. Yuck!

Ranch Parmesan Chicken

I tried a new recipe tonight and I must say, I LOVED IT!!! I love chicken breast and have really taken a liking to baking it.

Kraft makes a great kit called Fresh Take. You can get it in a few flavors and they are so easy to use. Tonight I wanted chicken, but didn't have a Fresh Take so I got on Pinterest and found this recipe.

Ranch Parmesan Chicken

3/4 C Corn Flakes
3/4 C Parmesan Cheese
1 Ranch Dressing Pouch (1 oz)
1 stick of butter
4 Chicken Breast (skinless, boneless)

Mix together the corn flakes, parmesan and ranch dressing packet. Next melt the stick of butter and dip the chicken in the butter. Roll each chicken breast in the corn flake mixture until evenly coated.

Bake chicken on 375 for 35 minutes.

Your kitchen will smell amazing and your tummy will be even happier once you eat!! I was so pleasantly surprised at how amazing this chicken tasted. I dare to say that it was better than the Fresh Takes!
